Killer

For an all-expense-paid, one-week vacation anywhere in the world, would you be willing to kill a beautiful butterfly by pulling off its wings? [What about stepping on a cockroach?]

sick country or sick world?
"One in four South African men questioned in a survey said they had raped someone, and nearly half of them admitted more than one attack. [...] It said practices such as gang rape were common because they were considered a form of male bonding. [...] Almost half who said they had carried out a rape admitted they had done so more than once. "
One a famous SA politician was told that a woman was a raped in his country every 3 seconds, he stood in the middle of the street, counted three seconds and proceeded to laugh saying that nothing had happened in those seconds.
Maybe he will believe now, as the truth comes out of the perpetrators' mouth.
The saddest thing of all is that, despite the fact that statistics are not the same all over the world, it is also true that it is, together with domestic violence, a common human rights abuse in ALL countries in the world. The fact that the rapist is in 80% of the cases known to the victims makes it even more disgusting.
This is a sick world, and in some parts, the world is very very very sick.

staying in the middle
it was like a roller coaster mood, it was up, it was down, it was the horizon, it was nothing but pitch black; those 'malditos fantasmas' had a lot to do with it; some of the ups were thanks to lovely people, who from far and close, lent a listening ear; it was a matter of the mix between practice and attitude, and since they were both choices, the decision had to do with winning that duality of pitch black and bright light, by staying in the middle (wherever the heck it was!), keeping cool, smiling and not allowing despair to settle; like she said, centered; flowers were bought, invitations sent around, with a polite request to bring alcohol, worked finished or parked; a known and easy exit, which would give some respite; the following days, the summit
